HOW I CALCULATE MY FEES
* I charge 25 % of the usual fee for repeated full sentences.
* I charge 50% extra for urgent translations.
* I offer discounts for translations over 10000 words
* Every translation below 2000 words is done online or
with a messenger provided by the client.
* My minimum fee for clients in Chile is CLP $ 10000
* I offer monthly packages of 1000, 3000 and
5000 words, or whatever might be your need, for frequent business
correspondence.
* My minimum fee for international clients is USD 25
- € 20 - £ 15 (By Western Union or Moneybookers) and USD
30 - € 25 - £ 20 (with PayPal).
* These fees include a 10% of Chilean Tax for our services.
Those businesses/clients that declare Tax in Chile must
withhold the 10% and declare it.
MY QUALITY ASSURANCE
There are various ways of assuring the quality of a translation. I perform a routine quality check on all my translations.
This check involves the critical review and comparison
of both texts in parallel (in English and Spanish) at
the end of the translating process, segment by segment,
and a review of the final monolingual version the next
morning. During these reviews I examine and amend the
following elements:
- That all parts of the text have been translated.
- Grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Concept-based errors.
- Style consistency.
- Terminology and localization (Language and punctuation
adequate for a country or language variant).
- Consistency of text format with the customer’s requirements.
- Verify the naturalness and fluency of the text in reading.
In some cases, when its required by the client or it is
necessary due to the kind of document, I can offer double
quality assurance checks. Once the document is
translated it is sent to a second translator who reviews
it and assesses the precision of the translation. This has
an additional cost. Double checks are advisable for very
sensitive documents or documents that carry legal responsibilities,
and/or include complex texts covering three or more specialty
fields.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES
Domestic Clients (in Chile)
I accept bank transfers, bank deposit, cash or personal
cheque payments, from verified customers. Non-verified
customers can pay by postal order, Express courier transfers
or cash. New and occasional customers must advance, at
least, 50% payment on acceptance of my estimate.
Cross-border Clients (USA; GB; EU; etc)
I prefer payments through Express courier transfers (Western
Union, Moneygram). I also accept payments through Moneybookers
or bank/wire transfer. New and occasional customers must
advance 50% payment on acceptance of my estimate. Each
payment procedure has different costs at this side of
the wire and determines the minimum amount of words I
can translate or the minimum fee I can charge, so please
express clearly your payment methods when asking for a
quote.
Verified Clients (in Chile)
These are clients with a verifiable Business name, RUT,
Address, and commercial standing.
DELIVERY TIMES
They depend on the extent and complexity of the translation,
and on the amount of work demanded at the time.
GUARANTEES
- If you are not satisfied with the translation, I guarantee I’ll revise the parts that are in doubt,
or have been refused, as long as you accompany your observations
with sound reasons. If I consider that indeed there has
been a mistake on my part, I shall correct it immediately.
If the error is due to a problem of data transmission I shall also correct it without cost. But if the correction
is due to improvements entered by the client, it will
be charged as if it were a new assignment.
- My guarantee
embraces the certainty with which I declare that all
the conditions, styles, formats, terminology (provided
by client), delivery date, fees, etc., agreed upon and
subscribed through my Estimate, shall be respected to
the letter. My professional image depends on that. Therefore,
any change to the conditions established in my Estimate
must be done in writing.
Although translations are not
perishable goods, and guarantees could be forever, due
to administrative needs my guarantee only covers a maximum
period of three months starting at the moment I deliver
the product.
